Drugs

Surprise, surprise...according to a investigative piece by the New York Daily News, San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds tested positive for amphetamines last season. Barry, being the stand-up guy that he is, blamed it on a teammate.

The teammate, utility player Mark Sweeney, was apparently rather shocked about the whole incident. As was reported in the story:

"Mark was made aware of the fact that his name had been brought up," Sweeney's agent Barry Axelrod told the Daily News. "But he did not give Barry Bonds anything, and there was nothing he could have given Barry Bonds."

According to the AP, Bonds will not be suspended, since this is his first offense.
